Privacy policy
PUFFA is for children, so we hold ourselves to a simple rule: collect as little as possible, use it only for what you asked, and delete it when we no longer need it.
Who we are
PUFFA is made by Prana Labs, 305-350 East 2nd Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5T 4R8, Canada. We are responsible for the details you share on meetpuffa.com. For anything about your privacy, write to privacy@meetpuffa.com, and a real person on our team will answer.
This policy covers this website and the PUFFA early family list. PUFFA itself, the companion and its parent app, is not in homes yet. Before PUFFA goes into any home, we will publish a separate policy covering the companion, including exactly how it handles a child's voice.
What we collect
When you join the early family list, we ask for your first name, your email address and your country. You can also tell us your child's age range (3 to 4, 5 to 6 or 7 to 9), the everyday moments you would most like help with (such as bedtime or car rides). Those extra answers are optional.
We also record when you joined, when you confirmed your email, and which version of our sign-up wording you agreed to, so we can show what you consented to.
We do not ask for your child's name, birthday, photo, health information or anything else that identifies them. Please do not send us those details.
Visiting the website stores nothing on your device. There are no cookies, no analytics and no advertising trackers on meetpuffa.com, and the page loads nothing from other companies.
Why we use it
We use your details for one thing only: to email you about PUFFA's launch. We may also look at the answers in total (for example, how many families have a child aged 5 to 6) to decide what to build first.
We never sell your details, never share them for advertising, and never add you to any other mailing list, including for our other products.
We use your details because you asked us to. Under privacy laws such as the GDPR, our legal basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Confirming and leaving
After you join, we send one email asking you to confirm. Until you do, we will not email you anything else.
Every email has a link to leave the list. Leaving deletes your details straight away. You can also write to privacy@meetpuffa.com.
Who helps us run this
A small number of companies process your details for us, only to provide their service and only on our instructions:
Supabase stores the list (servers in the United States). Vercel hosts the website (United States). Brevo sends our emails (European Union). Google Workspace handles email you send us (United States).
Because these services are in other countries, your details may be stored and processed outside Canada or your own country, where local laws may let authorities there access them. Each provider is bound by data processing terms that require it to protect your details.
How long we keep it
If you do not confirm your email, we delete your details 30 days after we send the confirmation email.
Otherwise we keep them until you leave the list, or for 24 months after you joined, whichever comes first. If PUFFA has not launched by then, we will delete your details rather than keep them indefinitely. You are welcome to join again.
Your rights
You can ask to see the details we hold about you, correct them, have them deleted, or withdraw your consent. Write to privacy@meetpuffa.com and we will reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm the request from the same email address, so we only act for the right person.
If you are unhappy with how we handled your details, please tell us first. You can also complain to a privacy regulator: in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in British Columbia, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for BC. In the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can contact your local data protection authority.
Children
This website is for parents and caregivers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has given us their details, write to privacy@meetpuffa.com and we will delete them.
Keeping it safe
The list is stored in a database that cannot be read from the public internet. Only our website's server can add to it, and only a small number of people at PUFFA can see it. All traffic to meetpuffa.com is encrypted.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your details, we will update this page and change the date below. If the change is significant, we will email you and ask for your consent again before it applies to you.
